Coaches, teachers, parents, and older players can become certified Rookie Rugby instructors. They will adhere to the principles of the Positive Coach model. The Positive Coach focuses on effort rather than outcome and on learning rather than comparison to others. Emphasis will be on safety and fun at all times, and the use of flags limits physical contact. Skill emphasis is on running, passing, ball handling and teamwork.
